Elan Estate
The Elan Estate in mid-Wales is owned by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water. It contains five reservoirs which have supplied water to Birmingham for a hundred years. Today the area is very popular with visitors who come to enjoy the magnificent scenery and explore on foot, bicycle and horseback. The 70 square miles of open hillside and crag, woodland, meadows, rivers and streams are rich in animal and plant life making Elan an internationally important wildlife site.
