British Birds Rarities Committee
The BBRC is the official adjudicator of rare bird records in Britain. Its members are democratically elected by birders' representatives in each county and serve for a fixed term.

British Library National Sound Archive
The wildlife section of the National Sound Archive was established in 1969 and holds one of the largest collections of wildlife sounds in the world. Also produces its own CDs, including 'British Bird Sounds on CD'.

British Ornithologists' Union

British Trust for Ornithology
The British Trust for Ornithology has existed since 1933 as an independent, scientific research trust, investigating the populations, movements and ecology of wild birds in the British Isles.

English Nature
English Nature is the statutory service responsible for looking after England's variety of wild plants and animals - the country's biodiversity - and its natural features.

Forestry Commission
Forestry Commission of Great Britain official Web site. "Take a stroll through the site to find out more about the country's forests and what the Forestry Commission is doing to protect and expand them." Including some information on visiting and recreation in the forests, as well as the industrial side.

Lost Falcon Center
The Lost falcon Center a quick response team for when falconers birds of prey go missing. The search team is run by volunteers, all of the searchers are volunteers, whose aim is to actively search with the falconer, in some cases within an hour where possible, we are in desperate need of sponsorship and volunteers.

National Trust Countryside and Environment website
This site offers an insight into the National Trust’s environmental and conservation work. It is updated every month and contains documents not previously circulated widely outside the organisation. Links to other Trust web sites appear on this page.

Rare Breeding Birds panel

UK Biodiversity Website
The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) established the Biodiversity Secretariat  to help support implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity in the UK. The Secretariat's role is divided between providing a service for implementing the processes in the UK Steering Group Report and promoting the integration of biodiversity into policies, projects and programmes within Government and beyond. The information included in the current version of the website will be developed over the coming year. However, as a starting point it was considered important to make widely available a number of guidance notes and fact sheets on the Biodiversity Action Plan process. For now it contains the following sections:- Copyright; Discussion forum; Guidance and fact sheets for lead partners (includes Habitat and Species Action Plans); Local biodiversity (includes Local Biodiversity Action Plan database); News. Wildlife and Countryside Link
Wildlife and Countryside Link brings together environmental voluntary organisations in the UK united by their common interest in the conservation and enjoyment of the natural and historic environment.
Our aim is to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the voluntary sector through collaboration. We currently have 36 members who collectively employ 9600 full-time staff, have the help of 113,000 volunteers and the support of approximately 8.4 million people in the UK.
