Birdwatch Ireland
BirdWatch Ireland is the largest and most active voluntary conservation organisation in Ireland. Established in 1968, they have over 5000 active members and more than 20 branches nationwide. Their primary interest is the conservation of wild birds and their habitats in Ireland, and they manage nature reserves. This site gives news of projects, and a rarity report, as well information for members. Also included is an excellent section on migration.

Birdwatch Ireland (South Dublin branch)
The South Dublin Branch of BirdWatch Ireland, the national NGO bird conservation group, caters for over 1000 members in the south Dublin area. The branch organizes frequent meetings, slide shows, local and coach field trips and its members are active in many local and national conservation projects.

Birdwatch Ireland (Tolka branch)
BirdWatch Ireland is the Irish partner of BirdLife International. It has a number of nature reserves throughout the Republic of Ireland, and undertakes surveys and research to increase the knowledge of Irish birds and to establish a sound basis for conservation. The organisation has a regional branch network which provides a range of educational, recreational and conservation activity programmes. Tolka Branch are on the north side of Dublin City, covering the postal districts through which the River Tolka flows.

Ireland's southernmost inhabited island, 3 miles long by 1 mile wide, lies 8 miles off the coast of West Cork and this site gives information about the island and its' bird observatory.

On the shores of Strangford Lough, this centre is famous for its wintering waders and wildfowl.

The Golden Eagle Project
A five-year project aims to re-introduce golden eagles to Donegal, Ireland, where they became extinct in 1910.

Rathlin Island RSPB, County Antrim - West Light Viewpoint
The RSPB manages a stretch of basalt cliffs along the island’s north coast where Northern Ireland’s largest seabird colony breeds. Visitors can get magnificent views of the seabirds from the West Light Viewpoint.
